Peach Glazed Spiral Ham is a salty, savory ham with the best sweet peach ham glaze and is perfect for an Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas ham dinner!
Sticky, Sweet, Salty, and Smokey, this Spiral Glazed Ham will be a hit with family and friends at your next holiday dinner.
A glazed spiral sliced ham has been served at our Southern Christmas and Easter holiday dinners every year since I was a little kid.
My dad would buy a pre-cooked bone-in spiral-sliced ham and make a homemade glaze. Each time he served this ham, he would vary the glaze. However, our family favorite was this peach glaze.
After I was grown, we carried on the tradition for many years serving ham for the main course of the holiday dinner.

What Type of Ham Should I Buy?
You’ll need to purchase one Pre-Cooked Spiral-sliced Bone-In Half Ham. This is the type of ham that most grocery stores will carry, especially before holidays.
How Large A Ham Should I Buy?
In order to know what size ham to buy, you’ll need to have an estimate of how many people you will need to serve.
According to the USDA, For a Bone-in Spiral-Sliced Half Ham, like the one used in this recipe, you can estimate 1/3 to 1/2 lb of ham per person.
For a Boneless ham, you’ll need about a 1/4 to 1/3 pound per person.
However, you need to also take into consideration who you will be serving. If half of the guests are small children, they will eat substantially less than 8 big football players. It may be better to calculate 3/4 lb for a bone-in ham to ensure there is enough for all appetites.
Therefore, if you have 8 hungry people to serve, then for a Bone-In Ham, I’d recommend a 6-pound ham. If you have 10 people to serve, then you will need a 7-1/2 pound ham.
To serve 8 people with a Boneless ham, I usually estimate at about 1/2 pound per person, then you will need a 4-pound ham, and to serve 10 people, you will need a 5-pound ham.

How Long To Cook A Spiral Ham
How long you cook the ham will depend on the size of the ham. However, A general rule of thumb, according to Foodsafety.gov is to cook a precooked bone-in spiral ham for 10 to 18 minutes per pound of ham, or until the internal temperature of the ham reaches 145 degrees F.
Recipe Tips
- Double the glaze if you want some for serving on the side. I like to spoon some of the glaze over the ham about 5 minutes before serving.
- Heat Level. Be sure to keep the saucepan on medium heat and no higher. Don’t get in too big a hurry because you want the glaze to burn.
- Temperature. If you are wondering at what temperature is the ham done? According to the USDA, pre-cooked ham is safe to eat cold. However, since this is the centerpiece for a holiday dinner, heat the ham until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.

Hi Michele,
Does spiraled means the ham is cut sideways before cooking? Sorry, it’s the only thing you don’t explain. In Québec we are not used to that cut !
Michele says
Hi Nathacha,
In the U.S., the hams that are already spiral cut when we buy them. This is a link to a spiral cut ham at Walmart grocery. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sam-s-Choice-Bone-In-Spiral-Cut-Ham-8-14-6-lb/20512805

what a fantastic recipe! I love how the sweetness of the brown sugar is balanced by the vinegar, and the mustard adds complexity beyond sweetness and acidity. I made only minor adjustments, using apple cider vinegar to better compliment the ham and I added a quarter cup of bourbon for added complexity, smokiness, and flavor that pairs well with the delicious bits of fatiness. I’ll definitely be making this recipe next Easter!
