Hi, I’m Michele, owner/creator of Flavor Mosaic. I am a wife, caregiver, dog mom, flute player, wine and chocolate lover, photographer, recipe developer and writer. My husband and I live in South Texas.
I was a late bloomer when it came to cooking. I was the youngest of five kids and my parents would have us set the table, or wash dishes, but did not share the kitchen with us, or share their recipes.
It was only after I was married that I realized one of us better learn to cook or we were either going to starve or go broke eating out every meal. So I searched recipes on the internet, joined recipe chat groups, gained many new online friends, and learned a ton about cooking through trial and error and discussions of shared experiences.
I have always had a creative outlet in my life. When I was young, it was music. I played the flute. However, I didn’t quit when school ended, I kept playing the flute in college, and after graduation in community bands and orchestras. While I don’t play in any groups now, I still enjoy getting my flute out every once in a while to play.
However, today my food and travel blog, Flavor Mosaic, is my creative outlet. It is where I share my love of creating new original recipes and food photography.
I love to cook delicious, fast, easy, flavorful and budget-friendly dishes with bold flavors for my husband, me and his mom who lives with us.
I love to experiment with ingredients I have on hand. As a result, I sometimes create unique ingredient combinations to come up with some of my best dishes. I create recipes with a variety spices and cuisines (often in the same recipe) such as Asian, Cajun, Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican, Southern, and Tex-Mex.
I hope you enjoy our blog and recipes.
Here are some cute pictures of our furry, 4-legged cocker spaniel child, Reagan, adopted last year.
Cheers,
