Instant Pot Maple Glazed Pork Tenderloin is tender and juicy with an easy, delicious maple sauce to spoon over the sliced pork.
It is an impressive gourmet pork tenderloin dinner that is very easy to make, and the whole family will love. Whether it is for New Year’s Day or any weekday, it is a winner!
Best Pork Tenderloin Recipe
Cooking pork tenderloin in the Instant Pot makes the tenderloin tender and juicy and, in my opinion, that makes this the best pork tenderloin recipe. As a matter of fact, this Maple Glazed Pork Tenderloin recipe is probably my new favorite of all my Pork Recipes.
Because the Instant Pot cooks with so much moisture and infuses so much flavor into the tenderloin, you don’t need to make a pork tenderloin marinade or brine.
Pork tenderloin is lean and when prepared in the oven, smoker, or on the grill, it can occasionally be dry. However, when pressure cooked in the Instant Pot, it comes out moist and tender every time. The key is to not overcook it.
If you are looking for a grilled pork tenderloin recipe, then I recommend my Maple Chipotle Barbecue Pork Tenderloin recipe, or Pork Loin with Dijon Sauce.
I especially like this recipe because the maple syrup and orange juice give it such a nice flavor and glaze.
Pork Loin vs Pork Tenderloin
Many people have asked me What is the difference between pork loin and pork tenderloin?
Pork Loin is a very different cut of meat from the pork tenderloin. A Pork Tenderloin is a longer, thinner, boneless cut of meat than the pork loin. The pork loin is much larger, wider, and not as long as the tenderloin.
If you have a pork loin, I recommend making this Orange Pomegranate Rosemary Pork Roast, which is delicious.
Can I Use A Pork Loin Instead of Pork Tenderloin?
For this recipe, I don’t recommend any substitutions for the pork tenderloin. The recipe and cook time were designed for the pork tenderloin. So, the short answer would be no. The pork loin would require a much longer cook time.
Maple Pork Tenderloin Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients, as well as an Instant Pot, of course. However, most of these ingredients you may likely already have on hand.
- Pork Tenderloin – As discussed above, you will need a pork tenderloin. Often these are sold in packages that contain 2 tenderloins. Go ahead and use both in this recipe.
- Oil – I used olive oil, but you can use canola oil, avocado oil, or your favorite oil.
- Maple Syrup – I recommend using real maple syrup and not imitation pancake syrup. It makes a big difference in the texture and flavor of the recipe and the sauce.
- Orange Juice – Ideally, freshly squeezed orange juice is best, but orange juice from concentrate works just fine in this recipe.
- Brown Sugar – About a half-cup of packed brown sugar is needed. You can use either light or dark brown sugar.
- Tomato Paste – It requires a couple of tablespoons of tomato paste.
- Minced Garlic – Mince about 2 – 3 cloves of garlic for this recipe.
- Salt and Pepper – Of course, you’ll need some salt and pepper for seasoning.
How To Make The Maple Glaze
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the syrup, orange juice, brown sugar, and tomato paste.
How To Cook Pork Tenderloin In The Instant Pot
- Add the olive oil and pork to the pot.
- Using the saute feature, lightly braise each side of the pork.
- Add in the minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Continue to saute for about a minute. Turn off the saute feature.
- Pour the prepared liquid mixture over the pork, and spoon the liquids over the meat.
- Close and lock the lid. Turn the valve to sealing. Cook on high for 5 minutes, then leave the pot for the natural release of steam, for an additional 15 minutes. Turn the valve to release the remaining steam. Carefully remove the lid and gently stir juices and spoon over the cooked pork.
Remove the pork from the juices, and place on a large plate or platter to slice and serve.
How To Make The Sauce For Pork Tenderloin
- Ladle one cup of the juices remaining in the pot and place in a small bowl.
- Add in three Tablespoons of all-purpose flour and whisk together. Season to taste.
- Serve as a side sauce or lightly drizzled over the pork before serving.
Recipe Tips
- Be sure you are using pork tenderloin and not a pork loin. If you are using a pork loin, you will have to cook it longer. The recipe is for pork tenderloin.
- If your pork tenderloin is frozen, you can still cook it in the Instant Pot. Skip the sauté step, and pressure cook for about 12 minutes, and let it naturally release for another 15 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Can I create a Pork Tenderloin Rub or Seasoning?

- The nice thing about using the Instant Pot is that you don’t have to worry about setting a temperature like you would if you were cooking it in the oven.
