HAM AND SWISS SLIDERS
Cheesy and buttery, these Ham and Cheese Sliders are mini sandwiches that use Hawaiian Rolls (or soft dinner rolls) instead of sandwich bread and make awesome savory appetizers. Like my other sliders, they are small yet hearty and flavorful.
Most ham and cheese sliders have a poppyseed topping on them. However, I don’t know about you, but I rarely have poppy seeds in my pantry. Instead of poppy seeds, this butter sauce uses minced garlic, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning top these sliders.
Serve these hot Ham and Cheese Sliders any time you want to feed a crowd for a party, any party. They are perfect for game day, such as a Super Bowl party or for holiday entertaining.
These Ham and Cheese Sliders are some of our favorite party appetizers, along with Jalapeno Popper Philly Cheesesteak Sliders and Chipotle Lime Chicken Fajita Sliders!
These hearty sliders are easy to make and can be made ahead of time and popped in the oven just before serving.
They are a perfect way to use up leftover ham from my Peach Glazed Spiral Ham recipe or my Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham recipe.

This is such a big hit in my house! My husband, parents and sister loved it! My sister called these sliders addicting. Even my in-laws can’t stop eating them.
We replaced the Hawaiian buns with pretzel buns though and I think it’s even better!!

Hi Ashley,
Thank you so much for letting me know that you and your family liked them. The pretzel buns sound amazing. I’m going to have to give that a try! Happy Thanksgiving.

My husband is allergic to mustard…would you just skip the Dijon or is there a substitute you would recommend?
Michele says
Hi Tiffany,
Thanks for reaching out. Since the mustard is part of the butter sauce and adds that zesty, tangy flavor, I would not recommend leaving it out without a substitute. A couple of options might be a small amount of horseradish, if your husband can eat that, or maybe a little wasabi.
Let me know what you try and how it turns out.
Thanks,
Michele

Family really enjoyed these sliders. I didn’t have Dijon so used a squirt of spicy brown mustard. My only “complaint “ would be about putting on the butter mixture. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to use all of it. It seemed excessive so just throughly covered the tops and sides. Had about 1/2 left so will freeze and have ready for another meal! Anybody have a recommendation for slicing the sandwiches easily?

I have made these since 2018 and they never disappoint

Made 96 for a birthday party with a few tweaks, used classic dinner rolls, added the Dijon mustard to some mayonnaise and spread on the side with the ham, which was spiral sliced ham, and for cheese half had provolone and half had Swiss then heavily brushed the tops with the butter mixture minus the Dijon on top. Didn’t have any to bring home and everyone loved them

Tastes great. I cut back on the butter by half though.
