- Carrots – I used about 6 rmedium-sized whole carrots, peeled and cut into carrot sticks, or you could buy carrot stocks, or baby carrots.
- Oil – I used 1 tablespoon of olive oil, but avocado oil would work well also.
- Garlic Powder – For enhancing the flavor. You could use garlic salt, but if you do, then omit the Kosher salt, otherwise it might be too salty.
- Kosher Salt – 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
- Pepper – 1/2 teaspoon black pepper – (optional) – I like to use freshly cracked black pepper.
- Fresh parsley – For garnish
How To Cook Air Fryer Carrots
Preheat your air fryer: Set your air fryer to 390° degrees F (198°C).
Season the carrots: In a bowl, toss the cut carrots with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Air fry the carrots: Place carrots in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Serve: Remove the carrots from the air fryer, transfer to a serving plate, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately. These are best enjoyed right after they are done.
Recipe Tips
- Flavor Enhancers – For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes, or cayenne for a little spice, or a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese, or experiment with other herbs and spices for different flavors, such as cayenne, paprika, Italian seasoning, or even brown sugar for sweeter carrots.
- Sweet Version – If you prefer a sweeter taste, drizzle the carrots with a little honey or maple syrup before air frying. It enhances the sweetness of the carrots.
- Carrot Variations – Experiment with different cuts of carrots, such as sticks, coins, or rounds, for varying textures. Cut carrots into similar sizes so they cook evenly.
- Enhance Texture – For a truly crispy result, make sure the carrots are dry before air frying them.
- Batch Cooking – Depending on the size of your carrots, you may need to cook these in batches.
