Herdez-Tomatillo-Verde-Creamy-Salsa

When I saw Valerie (From Valerie’s Kitchen) post this creamy salsa recipe I knew I had to try it. Her recipes are always excellent; and I love the new Herdez Mexican Cooking sauces, especially the Tomatillo Verde sauce used in this recipe. I expected this recipe would be good.  However, when I tasted the salsa, it was even much better that I expected. As a matter of fact, it is addictive! It is one of the best dips I have tasted in a long time, and one I will be taking to parties from now on. Unfortunately, when I tried it no one else was around to share it with. So, did I put it in the fridge to serve for later? Oh no! I finished it all by myself; and I don’t regret it! However, I highly recommend making it when you do have someone to share it with because, like me, you may not be able to resist it.The best part is that it is absolutely ridiculously and wonderfully easy to make. If you have five minutes and the four ingredients below, then you have a fabulous dish that will be a hit at any party. The Herdez Tomatillo Verde Cooking Sauce makes it so fast and easy, but it still has the same fresh, authentic flavor as if you spent all day roasting tomatillos.

Be warned:  this cooking sauce is spicy!  I generally like a medium spice level and I think it is spicy.  That is why I used half a jar of the cooking sauce instead of a whole jar as called for in the original recipe at From Valerie’s Kitchen.  That way it had a nice little kick but not too much.

Great blog Michele, you really did a wonderful job. I want to make this dip and still on the search for the cooking sauce. I did find a can of their salsa verde and may try it with that for now. Happy blogging!

Sherri, I recommend contacting the store management to see if they will carry the Herdez Cooking Sauces.

Several of us were chatting about how good this dip was. I am glad I’m not the only one who could not resist this dip.

I made this with cream cheese instead of yogurt, served over slow cooked chicken and it turned out brilliantly! So tasty. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
