Are you baking cookies for the holidays? If you follow my blog, you have already seen that I have been doing some holiday baking, making various cookies, including my Peanut Butter Cookies, Loaded Christmas Cowboy Cookies, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. These Confetti M&M Cookies use the base recipe of the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies but instead of chocolate chips, we add sprinkles and M&Ms! Yum!

However, I wanted to make a more fun, festive Christmas cookie that the kids and the whole family can enjoy. You just take one look at these Confetti M&M Cookies and they make you smile! It is incredible. These are the type of cookies that just get everyone into a festive, holiday mood.

What Makes Confetti M&M Cookies So Colorful?

Why the fun, colorful Confetti, or rainbow sprinkles, of course, in addition to the multi-colored Mini M&Ms. You can find both of these at your local grocery store or Walmart. If not, you can click on the name and order online.

These are a fun and delicious addition to the cookies. They make it so much fun that the kids will want to help bake these cookies.

TIPS FOR BAKING SUCCESSFUL COOKIES

  1. Cream of Tartar.  The secret to successful cookies is the addition of cream of tartar.  It makes the cookies a little thicker and gives them that nice crackly (is that a word) texture on top. Many professional bakers use cream of tartar in their cookies.
  2. Fresh Baking Soda. Another tip is to be sure that your baking soda is fresh and not old. Otherwise, you may have flat as pancake cookies.
  3. Use Real Butter. Yes. You could use margarine or shortening in the recipe instead of butter, but butter adds the best flavor of the three. Butter will result in the cookies spreading a little more. If maintaining the shape of the cookie is more important than the flavor, then you can use shortening to prevent the cookies from spreading.
  4. Measure all your ingredients. When cooking savory dishes, you can often get away with estimating the amounts of ingredients. However, when it comes to baking, it is important to measure all your ingredients so that the texture turns out as expected.

Be sure to add these fun, festive Confetti M&M Cookies to your holiday baking list!

About 1 teaspoon of water. You need just enough for it to dissolve.
