Eggless Peanut Butter Cookies with Chocolate Chips

Just how awesome are these Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies? Awesome enough for my husband, Dave, to exclaim that these were the absolute best cookies I have ever made.

To be fully transparent, his favorite foods all have chocolate and peanut butter in them. It is his all-time favorite flavor combination.

To Dave, it isn’t dessert unless it has chocolate in it, except for peanut butter cookies, which were his favorite cookies until he tried these.. And to take these delicious peanut butter cookies over the top, just add chocolate chips!

Should I use creamy or crunchy peanut butter for these cookies? It does not matter for baking. It is a personal preference. If you like the additional texture of chopped peanuts in the cookie, then use crunchy peanut butter. Otherwise, use creamy peanut butter.

What Type of Chocolate Chips Should I Use In Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies?

The nice thing when you make your own cookies, you can choose your favorite chips. You can use milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips or even chocolate chunks. I made on batch with milk chocolate chips and one with chocolate chunks. Both were excellent.

Is This Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Edible?

You might think that since there are no eggs in this cookie dough batter that it might be edible. However, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) just came out with a statement to remind people to not eat cookies dough due to the raw flour in addition to the raw eggs. I follow the CDC recommendations and therefore, do not recommend eating raw cookie dough.

Why Do People Make Fork Marks In Peanut Butter Cookie Dough?

The fork marks flatten the peanut butter cookies and help them cook more evenly. The addition of peanut butter to the cookie dough makes it more dense. The fork marks allow the cookies to be the same height all the way around the cookie.

Bake each batch of cookies for about 10 minutes in a 350 degree F preheated oven
