These Shortcut Christmas Cookies, including Chocolate Mint Chip Sugar Cookies and Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies, made with Betty Crocker® Sugar Cookie and Peanut Butter Cookie Mixes, are yummy, easy, and affordable, and help you Spread Holiday Cheer with simple surprises!
We are so fortunate to have family nearby. My sister lives about 10 minutes away. Eleven years ago a distant cousin spent about a year with my sister’s family when she was 18. So we got to know her while she lived with them.
Now she is all grown up, with a daughter of her own, and they decided to surprise us with a last minute visit. They called and said they would stop by in about an hour. I knew it would be a quick visit, so we had to make the most of our time. It was also a celebration so I knew I had to quickly bake something sweet for a simple surprise.
I know nothing I bake will be as sweet as this precious moment when this little one excitedly shared her baby photo on the cell phone with our yellow lab, Rosie. However, I wanted to bake some cute cookies for this sweet little girl.
Since this visit was on short notice, I didn’t have a lot of time to bake. So I used the Betty Crocker® Sugar Cookie Mix and Peanut Butter Mix, that I picked up earlier from Walmart, to quickly bake up some cookies for the occasion.
First, using the Betty Crocker® Sugar Cookie mix, I made some Chocolate Mint Chip Cookies by adding some creme de menthe chips to the cookie batter. It couldn’t have been any easier or affordable.
Next I made these adorable Christmas Reindeer Cookies by using Betty Crocker® Peanut Butter Cookie Mix and adding chocolate covered pretzels for antlers and candy covered chocolate bits for the eyes and nose. Don’t worry if the eyes aren’t even or if the nose is out of place. That just makes it more fun.
After about 10 minutes in the oven for each batch of cookies, the cookies were ready, and I was ready for their visit.
I think you can tell by the looks on their faces that these Christmas Cookies were a hit!
The reindeer cookies were especially a hit.
I’m happy I was able to Spread Cheer with Simple Surprises like these Shortcut Christmas Cookies.
