While our favorite teams are out of the playoffs, we will still get together with friends and watch the big game for both college and pros. However, no matter which team wins or loses, we will have winning game day food at our homegating party with Fresh Wings from the Walmart Deli. I love their General Tso’s Wings while Mr. Flavor Mosaic loves their traditional Hot Wings.
When I married Mr. Flavor Mosaic years ago, I knew he loved football. However, I didn’t realize how CRAAAAAAAAAZY he really was about football. Each weekend is a roller coaster of emotions depending on how well his favorite teams played.
And he is crazy not only about college football but pro football as well. If his alma mater did not play well on Saturday, I always hoped that his favorite Texas team plays well on Sunday to lift his spirits. However, over the years I have learned that no matter how each team plays, we can always have winning tailgating or homegating food during the game.
However, while I have good intentions, my work and blogging schedules don’t always give me the time I need to make game day food. That is why I am so happy that I can stop by Walmart after work and pick up hot Deli Wings for game time. They can be purchased in a Pick 3 Bucket, a plated meal, or wings by the pound. Their variety of wings, including Boneless General Tso’s, Bone-in hot wings, and Buffalo boneless, can keep everyone happy. On this most recent trip, I purchased the Pick 3 Bucket to have a variety.
To go with the wings I made an easy yet delicious homemade Southwest Avocado Bacon Ranch Dipping Sauce to go with the Hot Wings. It was so easy to make. I combined mayonnaise, sour cream and buttermilk in a bowl, and added the seasonings: dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, white pepper (you could use black pepper), and cumin and cayenne. Just before serving I topped it with chopped avocados and bacon! It was a hit! Yes. Walmart Deli Wings and this Southwest Avocado Bacon Ranch Dipping Sauce made me the Game Time Hero!

Michele says
Well, if there is going to be sports, there must be wings. I can handle the sports if there are wings.

This looks too delicious. If you served this to me at a football party.. I’d never watch the game because I’d be guarding all the yummy food!
