It is a new year with new year’s resolutions (again.) This year I want to eat healthier, not just to lose weight, but to be healthier overall. For the last couple of weeks, I caught an awful upper respiratory virus that has been going around, and it knocked me for a loop.

Being sick is no fun at all and just makes me more determined to get healthier and strengthen my immune system.

One of the most difficult times of the day for me is mid-afternoon. I get hungry and want to snack, usually on something unhealthy like chips. So to change my lifestyle, I know I need to make better choices.

One of the better choices I made was to buy the Weight Watchers String Cheese Snacks, which is made from milk and is only 1 SmartPoints per serving. Since they are individually wrapped, it is perfect for portion control.

It also makes a great on-the-go snack that is very satisfying (and also fun to pull apart), or you can pair it with fruit, such as apples, or with vegetables like celery and tomatoes.

I have been told that we eat with our eyes first before we enjoy our food. So I took a couple of simple steps to make my snack look beautiful, and make it easy to eat. It is great finger food.

I cut the Weight Watcher String Cheese in half lengthwise and then placed them in the center of a celery stick. Then I made some cute little mini skewers with the cheese and cherry tomatoes. It took me less than 5 minutes, and it makes a pretty, yet healthy finger food that your whole family can enjoy.

String Cheese with Celery and Tomatoes makes a great midday snack or evening appetizer that is wholesome and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 3 individually wrapped Weight Watcher String Cheese sticks
  • 4 celery sticks about 3 or 4 inches long
  • 4 cherry tomatoes
Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions 

  • Slice each Weight Watchers String Cheese stick in half lengthwise.
  • In each celery stick, place half of a Weicht Watchers String Cheese stick.
  • For the remaining cheese sticks, cut them into bite size pieces.
  • Place a cherry tomato and one cheese bite on a toothpick or appetizer pick. Repeat for remainder of the cheese bites and tomatoes.
  • Enjoy!
