Summertime is the best time to visit SeaWorld® Texas in San Antonio because they have shows, rollercoasters, the new waterpark Aquatica®, Shamu and much more!
Why is Summertime the best time at SeaWorld? Because they have extended hours, nighttime animal shows and more starting daily from June 17 to Aug. 13. Enjoy the new “Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster” and all your favorite attractions by day, and then stay late to enjoy Shamu Celebration: Light up the Night and Bay of Play Block Party, a family-friendly street “party” where guests can dance and sing along with their favorite Sesame Street friends. How awesome is that?
Aquatica® waterpark will be a hit with families because they cool off in the water and slide next to stingrays, go on the water rides, and relax on beaches.
SeaWorld® animal experts not only train the animals, they have helped more than 30,000 animals in need – ill, injured, orphaned and/or abandoned – for more than 50 years. More information can be found at SeaWorldCares.com.
Penguin Encounter
My husband and I enjoyed a Saturday at SeaWorld a couple of weeks ago. It was easy to get to and parking was easy as well. We enjoyed the Penguin encounter in a nice cool building and we encountered more than 100 penguins of various types, including the regal king penguin. These penguins are FAST as they swim through rocky waters. I never realized how fast these penguins were in the water.
Alligator Alley
We also encountered alligators in Alligator Alley. You can observe them in their own habitat. At first, they were hard to see because they camouflage themselves well. If you’re lucky, you may also get a chance to feed the alligators.
Pacific Point Preserve®
One of my favorite things was over at Pacific Point Preserve® where we watched the feeding of the sea lions. They are so entertaining just by being themselves. If you want, you can also feed the sea lions. Below is a video of the sea lions at feeding time. I sure would not want to get between them and their dinner.
One Ocean®
Of course, you can’t go to SeaWorld without seeing Shamu! We saw the One Ocean show that included vivid colors, exciting music, and dancing fountains as we watched the thrilling whales and realize we are all part of one world. It helps you realize that we are all part of one world.
The whales are magnificent sea creatures and we were in awe at their amazing abilities.
Other Things to do at SeaWorld
Aquatica®
Cool off at this tropical paradise next to SeaWorld that offers water rides from serene to extreme, crashing surf and unforgettable opportunities to meet stingrays, tropical birds, and other amazing animals. Soar up a three-story high wall on Walhalla Wave®, or simply relax and soak up the sun on white sand beaches.
Wave Breaker®: The Rescue Coaster combines the thrill of a roller coaster with a marine animal rescue mission. Inspired by the SeaWorld Rescue Team, Wave Breaker’s jet-ski style car is the first of its kind in North America.
