Lately Friday has been pizza night. It is the end of the week, the pantry is empty, and I’m tired and don’t feel like cooking, yet I want a delicious dinner that the whole family can enjoy. So we order pizza from Pizza Hut because everyone loves pizza, and it is perfect for watching the big game.
That is why I was so happy when Pizza Hut asked if we would try their new Flavor of Now menu with 5 awesome new toppings, 6 bold sauces, 8 varieties of crust flavors, and 4 flavorful drizzles. The new menu offers an abundance of possible combinations, or you can order one of their new 11 specialty pizzas. With so many amazing new flavors, you are certain to find some that everyone will enjoy.
Mr. Flavor Mosaic and I gathered around the computer and drooled over the new Flavor of Now menu on their online ordering site. With so many new flavors, in addition to the classic flavors we love, I wanted him to help me choose.
5 new toppings: premium salami, sliced banana peppers, classic meatballs, fresh spinach, Peruvian cherry peppers
6 bold sauces: classic marinara, premium crushed tomato, creamy garlic parmesan, buffalo, honey Sriracha, barbeque
8 crust flavors: Hut favorite, toasted parmesan, salted pretzel, honey Sriracha, fiery red pepper, toasted cheddar, toasted asiago, garlic buttery blend
4 drizzles: balsamic, honey Sriracha, buffalo, barbeque
I loved their 11 specialty pizzas to give me ideas of how to combine all the flavors. Ultimately we decided to create our own combination.
For the crust flavors we decided to go with the Salted Pretzel crust, and I’m so glad we did because it really does make the crust taste like a salted pretzel. Then we topped the crust with the Creamy Garlic Parmesan sauce, which is a creamy white sauce made with parmesan, romano, butter and garlic.
For the toppings we selected 3 out of the five new toppings, including Classic Meatballs, Peruvian Cherry Peppers, and Banana Peppers, and then added the following classic toppings: Green Peppers, Bacon, Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Diced Tomatoes.
The final touch was adding a little sweet and spicy flavor by selecting the Honey Sriracha Drizzle.
The result was our own truly amazing custom order gourmet pizza! I loved the combination of savory, salty, sweet, and spicy flavors on the pizza! And I can’t wait to try the other new flavors and create even more new fabulous flavor combinations. Next time we may try a barbecue chicken pizza.
