Chips are made for dipping and these Homemade Tortilla Chips can be made at home, baked in the oven and ready for dipping at your favorite tailgating or home-gating party.
First, you have to start with thin corn tortilla chips. I highly recommend buying the 100% corn tortillas and not the ones that are a mix of corn and flour because those will have a different texture. The corn tortillas will bake up crispy and have the texture you are used to with tortilla chips.
All you have to do to start making these Homemade Tortilla Chips is to cut the tortillas into quarters so they look like the shape of tortilla chips.
Then place the tortilla chips in a single layer on a baking sheet or sheet pan. Sprinkle with salt and they are ready to go in the oven.
These Homemade Tortilla Chips crisp up in only 10 minutes and then you are ready to start dipping!
Of course, the dip makes a huge difference in flavor. The chip is a nice vehicle to deliver the dip! I think it is the dip that is the star of the show.

- 20 thin corn tortillas, cut into quarters
- salt to taste
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a sheet pan with cooking spray.
- Place the corn tortilla quarters in one layer on the sheet pan. Spray them with cooking spray. Sprinkle them with salt and place them in a preheated oven.
- Bake them for 10 minutes.
