Red Velvet Blossom Cookies Recipe

Red velvet blossoms are a fun twist on peanut butter kiss cookies. They are filled with the rich flavors of red velvet and creamy Hershey's Kisses. Peanut butter adds extra flavor and texture, taking these cookies over the top!

  • Heat the oven to 350° and spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl.
  • Beat the butter, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla, and food coloring together until well combined.
  • Stir in the flour. Spoon a large tablespoon of dough and form a ball. Roll the balls in sanding sugar.
  • Place the dough on the cookie sheet making sure to leave room between the cookies. Press down lightly on the cookies.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and place on a cooling rack. Gently press a kiss in the middle of each cookie. Place the cookies in the freezer for 5 minutes until cool.

Notes

If the raw cookie dough is not cold enough, cover the sheet pan with the cookies with plastic wrap, and place the pan with the cookie dough balls in the refrigerator for an hour before baking.
