Frozen Mezcal Margarita

Mezcal Margarita is a delicious frozen cocktail that nicely balances sweet, tart, and smoky flavors of simple syrup, lime juice, and Mezcal.

Ingredients

Simple syrup

Cocktail

  • 2 oz Mezcal (or tequila)
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • ½ oz triple sec
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 Tablespoon salt (or Tajin for glass rim)

Instructions

Simple Syrup

  • In a small saucepan, place the sugar and water. Stir and place on low to medium heat for about 5 minutes or until it has thickened and the sugar is no longer visible.
  • Turn off the heat, and set aside. Let it cool to room temperature before using.

Margarita

  • Place your tajin or salt onto a flat small plate.
  • Use a wedge of lime to moisten the rim of your glasses.
  • Dip the edges of the rim of the glass onto a plate with tajin or salt. Set aside.
  • Place your lime juice, Mezcal, triple sec, simple syrup, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour into margarita glasses and garnish with mint or extra lime slices. Serve immediately
