Hot Chocolate Dip Recipe

This Hot Chocolate Dip with the hot chocolate mix, marshmallow creme, cream cheese, and whipped topping, makes an easy no-bake dessert dip for a holiday party for Christmas, New Year's, or anytime.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup hot cocoa mix
  • 7.5 ounces marshmallow creme
  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • mini marshmallows for garnish optional
  • Cookies or fruit for dipping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer, whip the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the cocoa mix a little at a time until thoroughly mixed in.
  • Mix in the marshmallow cream until thoroughly combined.
  • Fold in the whipped topping until there are no streaks.
  • Place into your serving dish and chill until ready to serve or serve immediately with a garnish of marshmallows if using and dippers of your choice.

Notes

  • I like to use Ghirardelli Premium Hot Cocoa Mix because it has a deep rich flavor and makes the dip extra chocolatey, but use your favorite hot chocolate mix.
  • The cream cheese gives a slight tanginess to the dip and keeps it from being overly sweet, so it pairs perfectly with sweet dippers.
  • Add extracts to the dip to change up the flavor. Some recommendations are almond, strawberry, orange, peppermint, or maple.
  • You can add mix-ins to the dip, like chopped-up candy canes, mini chocolate chips, dehydrated marshmallows, mini m&m’s, chopped nuts, chopped-up candy bars, etc.
  • Other garnishes include hot fudge, marshmallow cream, whipped cream or whipped topping, chocolate chips, candy canes, candy, etc.
  • Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
