We are celebrating the 1-year anniversary this month of Flavor Mosaic. So today I thought I would take a look back at the very first post on Flavor Mosaic.
I shared a recipe called Creamy Tomatillo Verde Avocado Salsa, slightly adapted from one of my favorite bloggers and mentors, From Valerie’s Kitchen, that uses one of my favorite sauces, the Herdez Tomatillo Verde Mexican Cooking Sauce.
A perfect party dip, this Creamy Tomatillo Verde Avocado Salsa, has only 4 ingredients, and can be made in less than 5 minutes, and will be the hit of the party!
After all, blogging 3 times a week for a year deserves a party! The bold flavor of this dip surprised me. It is creamy, spicy, bold, and words cannot accurately describe how much I love this dip.
If you make it with greek yogurt instead of sour cream, then it is a healthy dip also (unless you eat the whole batch by yourself). Really, don’t make this when you are alone. It is too addictive. Make it when you have other people to share it with. Come on, now. Yes. It is a good thing to share. However, I completely understand if you don’t want to.
The star of this recipe is none other than the avocado, but the Herdez Tomatillo Verde Mexican Cooking Sauce gives it a phenomenal spicy bold flavor. I love these Herdez Mexican Cooking Sauces. Unfortunately they can sometimes be hard to find. Try your local grocery store. Kroger carries them here.

I want to thank a number of bloggers for helping me out, especially when I was first starting. Really there are too many to count, but here are a few. Without their patience (they needed a lot of that with me) and guidance, Flavor Mosaic would not be where it is today.

Happy Blogiversary! I have made this dip and absolutely love it! I love the Herdez products also, and even Grumpy, who claims to dislike all things Mexican (Food) loved what I made with their product. I agree with Renee! We should be thanking you! You may be a newbie at blogging but you have brought us a wealth of information and are so willing to share with us. It is appreciated greatly. Here’s to many more successful years of blogging!

Congrats on your milestone! The dip sounds great! I may or may not have a small/large dip eating obsession! I swear I could skip meals if I could binge on chips and dips!
Michele says
I could live on chips and dip alone.
