Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse Review

My family and I visited the newly opened Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse in The Woodlands, Texas for an incredible Brazilian Churrasco dining experience.

One of the great benefits of being part of the local Houston Food Bloggers Collective is receiving invitations to new restaurants that have opened in the area. When I heard that Fogo De Chao was opening a new location in The Woodlands, Texas and was inviting bloggers and their guests to check out the new restaurant, I jumped at the chance.

The Woodlands restaurant is located in Hughes Landing and has a outside patio with a view of the lake. Whenever we had a special occasion we enjoyed going to the Houston location of Fogo De Chao. Since the new location is even closer to us, we will definitely be dining here more often.

Have you eaten at a Churrascaria, a Brazilian Steakhouse, specifically Fogo De Chao? It is an experience you will not forget. It is a carnivore’s dream come true! It features fire-roasted meats that have been prepared by Brazilian-trained gaucho chefs, and are served by gauchos who carve the meat off skewers right at your table. The meat is served on demand. You have a round card that is green on one side and red on the other. If the green side is displayed, they will continue to bring a variety of fire-roasted meats to your table.

What I love is that this is not an Americanized take on Brazilian food. Fogo De Chao started its restaurant chain in Brazil and expanded to the U.S. Therefore it is quite authentic.

The dining room has a contemporary, yet rustic elegance with white tablecloths, a brick wall and wooden barrels in the wall, and contemporary lighting.

The kitchen has glass windows so guests can see the Chefs fire roasting the meat, adding a contemporary aspect to the restaurant.

They have an incredibly beautiful wine room in which eight people can enjoy dinner surrounded by three glass walls filled with top quality wines.

While Fogo de Chao is a carnivore’s dream, for the vegetable lovers, it also offers a very large market table filled with vegetables, salads, cheeses and more.

You could make a meal just with the variety of offerings on the market table. But why when there is so much more to come.

This is but a small sample of all the meats and poultry served on a skewer and brought to your table. We had garlic beef, bacon wrapped chicken, ribeye and so much more.

Be sure to save room for dessert. We tried the brownie, tres leches cake, and key lime pie. Our favorite was the brownie.

When you come to Fogo De Chao, be sure to arrive hungry because you will want to try all the wonderful meats, side dishes, market table items and desserts.

Disclaimer: My 3 guests and I received a complimentary meal and the gift cards to try out the new location and write about our experience.
