In a medium sauce, over high heat, bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium high, stir in rice and salt and return to a boil.
Reduce heat to low so it will simmer. Cover and cook for about 16 to 18 minutes until rice is tender and has absorbed all the water.
Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for about 10 minutes. Then fluff with a fork and serve.
